• Peer Review Process ▼
IJMAPES Article Evaluation Process
IJMAPES adopts a robust article evaluation process to ensure the quality of research and scientific knowledge and to provide trust in the academic community. IJMAPES encourages high-quality scientific publications with its open access policy, ethical standards, and transparent evaluation processes. Every article published in IJMAPES undergoes a detailed evaluation process, and this process is applied with transparency, impartiality, and rigor.
1. Article Submission and Preliminary Review
Article submission is made to the IJMAPES online system. Submitted articles are primarily reviewed by the editor.
- Content Suitability: The article is evaluated for its suitability for the scope and subject of IJMAPES.
- Spelling and Language Control: IJMAPES expects high-quality content in terms of spelling rules, grammar, and academic language. Authors must comply with academic writing standards (such as APA 7).
- Ethical Control: IJMAPES guarantees that submitted articles are ethically correct. COPE guidelines and plagiarism checks are carefully examined by IJMAPES.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review Process
IJMAPES applies the double-blind peer review model. This is a system where both authors and reviewers hide their identities from each other.
- Reviewer Selection: IJMAPES editors select two independent reviewers for each article. These reviewers are experts in their fields.
- Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers prepare a detailed evaluation report assessing scientific quality, methodological accuracy, literature alignment, innovative contributions, and validity of findings.
- Evaluation Criteria: Scientific Contribution, Methodological Contribution, Presentation of Data and Findings, Writing and Presentation Quality.
- Evaluation Results: Reviewers recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection.
3. Post-Evaluation and Decision Process
Following reviewer evaluations, editors make a final decision.
- Accept: If reviewers and editors are satisfied with the quality, the article is accepted.
- Revision Required: Authors are given time to make corrections. Revisions are re-examined by reviewers.
- Reject: If the article does not meet standards even after major revisions, it is rejected.
4. Rights and Obligations
Authors: Retain copyright but accept the open access policy. Must exhibit a transparent and honest approach.
Reviewers: Obliged to give objective feedback. Must declare conflicts of interest.
• Open Access Policy ▼
IJMAPES adopts the open access policy to encourage scientific knowledge to be freely accessible and shared globally. The main purpose of this policy is to ensure research results are usable and accessible by a wider audience.
Open Access Model
- Free Access: All articles published in IJMAPES are offered as open access. This means research can be read, downloaded, and cited free of charge by everyone.
- Dissemination without Barriers: There are no paywalls between authors and readers.
- Access to Wide Audiences: Open access ensures research is accessible to readers outside academic circles, policymakers, and educators.
- Permanent Identification (DOI): All content is defined with a DOI to be permanently accessible on digital platforms.
Global Access and Research Sharing
Through open access, IJMAPES articles become accessible worldwide without any barriers. This model ensures the rapid spread of scientific research and creates a wide impact area in the academic community.
• Archiving Policy ▼
IJMAPES is determined to ensure long-term digital preservation and accessibility of all published content.
Digital Archiving and Preservation
- PKP Private LOCKSS Network (PKP PLN) Participation: IJMAPES is an active participant in the PKP PLN. Our journal accepts the terms of use of this network to ensure continuous and secure preservation of its content. Content is automatically archived and secured against data loss.
- LOCKSS and CLOCKSS: LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems are used to ensure content remains permanently accessible and secure. These decentralized preservation systems guarantee content remains accessible via library networks even if the journal ceases publication.
Post-Publication Content Integrity
To ensure the integrity of the academic record, retractions, corrections, or updates are clearly marked. Even if the journal closes, published articles will always be accessible through LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, institutional archives, and DOI databases.
• Publication Frequency ▼
International Journal of Mathematics and Pedagogical Studies (IJMAPES) is published annually (one issue per year). However, it maintains submission and preparation processes for major international indexes.

- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must refuse to evaluate articles with conflicts of interest.
3. Editors' Responsibilities
- Independence and Impartiality: Editors make decisions based on scientific validity, without discrimination based on identity or institutional affiliation.
- Attitude Towards Ethical Violations: Editors meticulously examine ethical violation complaints according to COPE flowcharts.
4. Publication Ethics Violations and Process
When ethical violations (plagiarism, data fabrication, etc.) are detected, the process includes preliminary evaluation, defense from the author, and sanctions (rejection or retraction). Authors have the right to appeal.
• Plagiarism Policy ▼
IJMAPES aims to prevent plagiarism in academic studies by supporting scientific honesty.
Definition and Types of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as using another researcher's ideas, findings, text, or visuals without appropriate citation. IJMAPES considers types such as Direct Plagiarism, Self-Plagiarism, Patchwriting, Improper Citation, and Data Manipulation.
Plagiarism Rate and Acceptability Criteria
IJMAPES checks all articles with similarity detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate).
- General similarity rate should not exceed 20%.
- Direct quotation rate should not exceed 5%.
- Bibliography section is not included in the similarity rate.
Plagiarism Detection Process
- 20% and below: The study is taken into the evaluation process.
- 20-30% similarity: Authors are asked to revise the text.
- 30% and above: The study is directly rejected.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the scientific accuracy of AI-generated content. AI-generated texts should not be directly copied and must be supported by academic sources. It is unacceptable for the entire or a large part of the article content to be generated by AI.
3. Citation and Resource Use
Since AI tools are not accepted as scientific sources, they cannot be directly cited. The validity of content generated by AI tools must be verified with peer-reviewed academic sources.
4. AI Use in Peer Review and Editor Process
Reviewers and editors can use AI tools only as auxiliary tools in scientific evaluation processes. Decisions based entirely on AI support are unacceptable.
5. Data Security and Privacy
Confidential information (author identity, manuscript drafts, etc.) must not be uploaded to AI tools.
6. Ethical Violations and Sanctions
IJMAPES investigates suspicious content, requests explanations from authors, and applies plagiarism policy procedures if AI-supported content manipulation is detected.
